I’m pleased to announce that I have been awarded the Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Commission. I’ll be composing a large ensemble piece “The Seasons of Being” for an augmented Dapp Theory configuration to premiere in 2014/15.
I just wrapped up 3 amazing days participating in the Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute at Columbia University. What a learning experience!!! My new composition for orchestra, “Element of Surprise” was performed by American Composers Orchestra in a public reading in front of over 400 people, including many distinguished musician/composers. What a thrill!!!!
